Groningen

The municipality of Groningen was the first European municipality to put a hydrogen-prepared garbage truck from E-Trucks Europe into use in 2017. Groningen thinks hydrogen is THE solution to make its city center emission-free.

The hydrogen vehicles can hit the road thanks to the purchase of a new hydrogen filling point, which means a truck has enough hydrogen on board for about five refueling sessions. A hydrogen truck doesn’t emit any CO2 or other harmful substances and is therefore perfectly in line with the goal of the municipality of Groningen to work completely energy neutral by 2035.
